I don't know if you guys know, but I’ve been having a difficult time recently. Firstly, my friends have all gone on an amazing 2 month round-the-world holiday, whilst I’ve been stuck here in the cold and wet. Secondly, i lost my job 3 weeks ago and so have been really worried about my financial situation. However, i think things are looking up again now. I met a really nice woman in the pub last week, and she told me about a website called www.adizar.co.uk where i can find everything i need in one place! I went on for a look when i got home, and applied for a job that i was doing before offering a 20% bigger salary. I got an email this morning saying that they would like to invite me for an interview! I’m so excited! I’ll let you all know how i get on!

This Christmas I am going to be very clever with my Christmas shopping, and I'm going to do absolutely, 100&% all of it from the comfort of my home, or work, through the powers of the Internet. I quite enjoy shopping when it's not in the run up to Christmas, or after Christmas, or any time when there's a crazy sale and people get whipped up into a frenzy really. My ideal shopping time is early in the daytime on a normal weekday when most people are at work, kids are at school, students at lectures and whatever, they're just all somewhere else that's not in the shops! So I've already ordered my younger sister an r4i gold card that I'm going to fill up with stuff for her before I wrap it. I'm looking online at something for my parents, I was going to get my mum a jumper but I'd probably have to see it in person to do that, so no, I might get her a DVD box set, same for my dad. Maybe I'll get them the entire Lost all series box set as a joint gift, I'd love it if someone bought me that! Photo: norman_baboo (Flickr)

My friend is a bit unlucky in love, she's like one of those Bridget Jones characters (but younger, I should point out!) who messes things up but is completely charming at the same time. She was telling me about a speed dating event she went to with a friend after work this week, and how awful it was! She said most of the men were painfully boring, and one spent their 2 minute date telling her how he loves building things and just bought a lego star wars republic frigate and couldn't wait to get home to build it. Why he was at speed dating when he just wanted to play with his new toy and not actually make an attempt at successful speed dating is a mystery to me. I don't think she really needs to do all this speed dating stuff, it'll happen for her one day she's only 27! Photo: ... jc ... (Flickr)

Why is public transport full of such awful people? Are all the inhabitants of the UK really that bad or just the ones that get on my occasional bus routes? I got the bus to my mum's house yesterday evening and the guy I stupidly sat next to would not stop ardently flicking through with the various functions of his Leatherman like a demented child with a new toy. Then a man sat near me did not relent in staring at me and making weird noises with his mouth. I ended up staring at him for a length of time and asked him if there was a problem, and he just looked at my dumbfounded, but didn't stop staring, so I suggested he look elsewhere and eventually he kissed his teeth and did so. I spent pretty much all of last night talking, consoling and drinking a lot of red wine with my best friend, after she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her! They've been together a couple of years, but yesterday she was using the computer and found a receipt in the 'Trash' bin for flower delivery leeds, her now ex-boyfriend does some business in Leeds and Birmingham so she thought it might be for work but was still suspicious. So she called the flower company to confirm the order and managed to get them to tell her what the message with the flowers said, and it was certainly not a business message! I'm so devastated for her, especially finding out like that, she managed to log onto his facebook and found loads of messages between him and this other woman.
